Need a corkboard? No problem!

So I know enough about Photoshop to get by, but am by no means an expert. In an attempt to get closer to becoming a ‘real designer’ I’ve also dabbled in Adobe Illustrator, but unfortunately but ran away from that one with my tail between my legs – I’ll need quite a few more tutorials on that before I start using it with any sort of confidence.

Anyway, the moral of the story is that having no formal training on any of this stuff, it’s taken me some time to figure out the idea of vectors and paths and now I’m just beginning to dabble in this area. So, when my baby sister needed a “corkboard” background for a Uni assignment I jumped at the chance to try my hand at making is using paths.

So here it is – this is 100% hand made by me – feel free to use it for whatever you want (if you ever find another use for it) but please don’t judge me … yes, I’m a noob at these things and my stuff is far from perfect. I just thought it might be worthwhile sharing, in case someone out there that just happens to need a vector corkboard. You know, it could happen.

The zipped file is 150mb so be prepared for that. It’s got pushpins (thumb tacks), sticky tape, a polaroid, a post-it note, torn out note paper and a title area with a web 2.0 style flipped corner – all vector paths that can be deleted, moved, changed, etc etc. It’s all in nice layers so it can be easily edited.

If anyone does find a use for this, and you have any questions or want to leave a note saying what you used it for, feel free to leave a comment. I’d like that. :) Happy corkboard-ing!

I was so happy to see this download, but very unhappy when it downloaded and I received an “invalid file” error message. :(

It looks beautiful and I would love to use this for a project for my son.
